Starting Up 3 New Commissions for Donation

As I mentioned last week, I've taken on 3 commissions in the new year: one from Prolife Alberta and two from Equipping the Persecuted. All proceeds will go directly to helping fund these organizations. The first one is already underway and the other two are in planning stages still.

What I’ve been working on:

This work has a very simple underpainting mostly in black with some warmer tones just to create high contrast and then have started right away with oils.

This painting will take me a while still because it will require a lot of oil layering with long drying time in between but I really wanted the baby’s skin to come across as warm and rich in the end.

I decided to take on this commission after learning some pretty shocking facts about abortions and botched abortions resulting in live births, where the babies are just left to die without any interventions. This commission is very close to my heart and all proceeds will be donated to Prolife Alberta.

The underpainting on this one is finished as well and I’ve started on oil glazing.

I’m still planning out the two commissions for Equipping the Persecuted - I’ll be doing one of them during my art class as a demonstration. Hopefully will have a progress picture to share next week!

The persecution of Christians in Nigeria is very close to my heart and I’m really excited to be contributing in this way!
