As I get closer to my due date, I can feel myself needing to slow down a little.
The large mixed media pieces I’ve been working on take a lot physically — standing for hours, layering in oils — and while I LOVE that process, I’m approaching the time where I need to slow down the pace.
So I’ve decided to experiment with something new.
Here’s some pictures with watercolours and 18k gold marker on mixed media paper. My firstborn, Autumn, turns 3 TODAY (time has FLOWN) and is having a great time colouring next to me in this photo - she’s finally reached the age where she LOVES to colour instead of just eating/breaking the crayons:

I’m going to start creating slightly smaller Scripture-based works — pieces that feel focused, intentional, and rooted in the Word. Less physical strain.
More time sitting with a verse.
There’s something beautiful about letting a single line of Scripture carry the weight of a piece. I’m excited to explore that more deeply.
This feels like a natural transition — not stepping away from mixed media entirely yet as I still have commissions pending (more on those in upcoming weeks), but slowing down and making room for a quieter kind of creation as I prepare for baby.
Thank you so much for being here. Truly. This feels experimental and unsure, and it means more than you know to have you walking alongside it.
