Hoping you are doing okay. September has been a heavy month for so many.

I always want to jump right in when things are going wrong or when there is a crisis. But I have to remind myself that God is in control. He’s got it. He has the power to do anything and everything He wants in His perfect timing.

I have to stop and remind myself to look to Him. To sit with Him. To let Him direct me in any action - if any. Not to just rush in and do or say what I think is right. I am nothing before God. This may sound harsh or offensive to our ears but if we think about it, it’s profoundly liberating and can provide so much peace.

This is an up to date progress shot of the piece I’ve done the most work on this week:

Next week, I’ll be flying to Vancouver Island for the week with my family to support my husband as he competes in powerlifting at Canadian Westerns! I’m SO looking forwards to it as I’ve never been to British Columbia!

I’ll try to send out an e-mail next Friday with some photos of the Autumn colour changes and the ocean and mountains there! Likely there won’t be much painting progress for the next few weeks.

Other Updates:

  • My work will be showcased at the Sheep River Library for October & November. Likely I’ll be setting it up after I return from my trip so it will be the 2nd or 3rd week of October but I’ll let you guys know if you want to take a look.

  • “Everlasting Dawn” and “Dawn of Grace” are two large mixed media works that are part of my Firmament collection that I’m GIVING AWAY for free (including free delivery/shipping) in time for Christmas. They will be up at the library if you want to see them in person. If you want to enter the giveaway for a chance to win one, just reply to this e-mail letting me know.   • A reminder that I’ll be hosting a mixed media 6 week class at the Sheep River Art Council starting in January on Saturdays. If you are interested, please REPLY to this email and let me know what you’re hoping to learn and if there are any goals you have. I’m starting to think about how I’ll be structuring the class and feedback is very helpful!
