Four New Paintings In Progress
Officially underway with four new paintings in progress! Hoping to finish them in time for the art show in October...
I’ve now started four new underpaintings for my next collection! It’s super exciting to get fully underway. I’ll be working on these four pieces in tandem. I have many more pieces drafted for this collection but I figure 4 is a good place to start.
I’m hoping to have them finished by October so I can include them in the upcoming art show at the Sheep River Library.
Here’s the information if you’re in the area and would like to attend (click on the photo below to open the link in a new tab):

This is a preview of 3 of the 4 pieces I’ve started to work on:

On another note, I’ve been feeling a bit aimless with social media lately. I always feel like I “should” be posting more but any free time I have, painting is always my priority. I also am trying to be very mindful about spending less time on my phone, especially in front of my kids.
Mom guilt is very real BUT I also do have this strong pull towards sharing my work. I don’t know why exactly and I don’t fully understand. But I remember being in my early 20s and following all sorts of “inspirational” and “motivational” accounts on Instagram but I felt that they always left me feeling more empty.
I don’t want to be that. I want to point people towards the only thing that can give peace, meaning, love: God.
I want to share my work in a way that feels more strategic, cohesive, and meaningful. I have some ideas on how I’m going to proceed forwards but I’d also love your thoughts. What do you enjoy seeing most? Behind-the-scenes process videos? Finished pieces? Personal reflections? Reveals?
If you haven’t checked out my accounts yet, I’d be so grateful if you gave them a peek and let me know what resonates with you:

Something small but meaningful this week: I was watching my favourite ASMR artist (if you’re ever feeling stressed or overwhelmed I would HIGHLY recommend - https://www.youtube.com/@dailybreadasmr), and she read a passage from Isaiah 41:10—'I will strengthen you, I will help you…' It reminds me that even when I'm overwhelmed, I’m not alone - God never leaves or forsakes us.
It really resonated with me. I realized I don’t have to carry so much fear around posting, sharing and social media. I’m in Christ, and He’ll protect me from going down the wrong path. He’ll help me. Sometimes I forget, and maybe you do too — so here’s your reminder: you’re not alone in this.
Lastly, a quick note — I know it’s still August, but if you’ve been thinking about commissioning something for yourself, your family or someone special Christmas, this is a great time to reach out.Things tend to get really busy closer to the season and planning larger or more complex works take time.
