Commission 1 for Equipping the Persecuted:

Last week, I did a layer of white acrylic to fix my white charcoal and then did all the oil glazing layers in the art class that I’m teaching with the Sheep Creek Arts Council.

Tomorrow is my last art class so I’ll be finishing this painting then with the final oil layers! Will share the final work next week!

Commission 2 for Equipping the Persecuted:

This is the commission I worked on most this week. I used some moulding paste to collage on a few scripture verses I thought were relevant, added some more layers to the underpainting including inks.

I’m pretty happy with the underpainting and so I’ve just started on my charcoal drawing. It’s still in the very rough stages for now but once I get this drawing a little bit refined I’ll be able to switch to the final stage with this one too: oils!

Commission for Prolife Alberta:

Just finished this one!!!

It’ll be drying over the next two-three weeks before the final varnish and then will be delivered! I’ll share the final photos once it’s fully dry and varnished over the next month.

I’ll also be praying for a title to come to me over the next little bit so will share that also.

Private Commission :

This one in the same spot as last week. Nothing new to report! This requires a long oil painting session at this stage and will likely be finished or almost finished afterwards so I haven’t had a day the last two weeks with that lengthy time slot available to do so.

After praying on it this week, I’ve decided I really like the idea of working on some scripture-centred artwork. My last round of commissions that I’ve accepted are deliverable in May so after that I will be making this my focus for the summer as baby #3’s due date approaches!

I’m looking forward to starting to brainstorm and coming up with some cool ideas to incorporate! I’ll be using different mediums likely watercolours, water-based inks and graphite but we’ll see.

Thank you so much for being here! Reply and let me know your thoughts if you have any you’d like to share. I’m always so happy to hear from you!

Warmly in Him,

Martina
